Dalswinton Mill

The mill is in a rural location approximately 6 miles north of Dumfries.

Dalswinton Mill is an 18th Century Scottish corn mill with working water wheel. It has been restored and sensitively converted into a family home by the Taylor family - who now spend part of each year in France. The accommodation comprises: 3/4 bedrooms (sleeping up to 8 persons), kitchen with Aga, dining room with atrium, snug with window on waterwheel, sitting-room, conservatory with 360 degree views of burn and rock pools, a well-stocked library. Internal decoration is of a high standard; open stonework, oak doors throughout, interesting architectural features and furnishings/pieces of art from around the world.

Garden / Grounds:
The mill is situated next to the Pennyland Burn in a grove of 200 year old beeches. The two acres of grounds include a Monet-inspired bridge, a 15ft. circular stone dovecote, and several large sculptures.

Views, wildlife and local environment:
The secluded location attracts a range of wildlife including red squirrels, herons, pheasants, owls and many varieties of smaller birds such as kingfishers, tree creepers, and woodpeckers.
