Derwent House in Matlock is peacefully located in a conservation area overlooking the River Derwent, besides the popular Hall Leys park with its colourful gardens
A fine Georgian property with excellent facilities that sleeps up to 12 people. Many original features, including beamed ceilings, quarry floors and stone fireplaces remain. The house offers a luxury environment to relax with friends and family. Accommodation includes a fine dining room, large kitchen, six individually designed bedrooms (3 en-suite plus one with w.c./hand basin) plus a large bathroom. There is a log burner in the main lounge.
Garden / Grounds: A large front garden, with colourful borders to the front and courtyard to the back. The courtyard area is enclosed and has flower displays and herbs. There are benches, chairs and table for guest use.
Views, wildlife and local environment: The house is next to a large park (ideal for all ages). The varied delights of the Peak District, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Abraham Heights are all within easy reach. Many local attractions are accessible using public transport from Matlock train or bus station (5 minute walk from Derwent House).
