Doonbank Cottage is ideally located as a self catering holiday cottage, being just 1 mile easy walk from the stunning Ayrshire coastline with its sandy beaches and a short stroll from the Burns Monument, Burns Cottage, Alloway Kirk, and the world-famous Brig O'Doon, inspiration for Robert Burns' poem 'Tam O'Shanter'.The immediate area is famous for its superb sporting facilities, including the championship golf courses of Turnberry and Royal Troon. Sailing, game and sea-fishing are all locally available. The area contains many castles and country parks, and it is only a short trip from the coast to the islands of Ailsa Craig, Arran and Cumbrae. Doonbank Cottage is easily accessible by road, by air (Prestwick Airport 15 minutes) or by train (Ayr station 10 minutes). The cottage is available for holiday lets and short breaks throughout the year. Doonbank offers not only a stunning natural environment but a luxury level of accommodation in a beautiful thatched cottage. We welcome responsible pet owners and their pets.
