There are no less than four golf courses within easy reach including the renowned Slaley Hall and Matfen Hall courses. Fishing, riding and sailing are all available locally. National Hunt racing is only ½ mile away. Visit, and walk Hadrian’s Wall and see Housesteads fort and Vindolanda. Go to Alnwick Castle for the “ Hogwarts” experience and browse in the Duchess’ Garden. Take the Coastal Route and see the castles and beaches and cross the causeway to Lindisfarne. Explore the extensive Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park continuing up into the wild and romantic Borders. To the south west and within easy distance is the Lake District.
