Holiday Cottage Ideally Situated for the Lake District & Yorkshire Dales

Ruby's Cottage is situated in the outstanding natural scenery of the Howgill Fells - this is where the Lake District meets the Yorkshire Dales. Although not as high as the Lake District there are summits over 2000ft to challenge the experienced walker and novice alike. For the less strenuous there are beautiful walks along the 4 local rivers the Rawthey (50yds from the cottage), the Clough (Garsdale), the Dee (Dentdale) and the Lune - the Dalesway follows the Lune Valley. Ruby's Cottage was built c.1835 as the joinery shop to the Mill, and now has been restored to provide a tastefully decorated Grade II listed self catering holiday cottage. The accommodation comprises:Lounge - Flagstone floors and woodburner give a traditional feel to the cottage, whilst the comfortable sofas add to the cosiness.Dining area - with oak table, chairs and dresser.Kitchen - superbly fitted oak units, belfast sink, granite worktops and full range of AEG appliancesBedrooms - One double and one twin bedded room with sprung mattresses and carpet to the floorBathroom - modern bathroom suite with overbath shower and glass shower screen. Outside there is a small seating area to the rear of the cottage by the beck (stream) with views to the Dales.If you are touring then the cottage has a good range of maps, books and local information and a short walk away at the Lakes & Dales Tourist Information centre there is a vast array of visitor attractions for the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales Making Ruby's Cottage an ideal base from which to explore.

To the front of the cottage there is off road parking for one vehicle, extra parking is available nearly opposite. A parking permit is also supplied for FREE PARKING on the two Sedbergh main car parks.

Views, wildlife and local environment:
If fishing is your interest then day/week permits are available and Sedbergh Golf Club welcomes guests to play - 18 holes in stunning scenery. Sedbergh is Englands Book Town and specialist shops offer books and memorabilia to suit all tastes and there is a good range of shops for everyday self catering needs.
