Llandysul
Guide supplied by Mrs J. Robinson, owner of Penyrallt Fach Holiday Cottage .
Penyrallt Fach Cottage is situated on a beautiful & secluded farm set on a hillside overlooking the lovely Teifi Valley of north Carmarthenshire. The river Teifi forms the boundary between the three counties of Ceredigion to the north and Pembrokeshire & Carmarthenshire to the south. The surrounding countryside is rich with beautiful landscapes of small hidden valleys of oak woodland and large open areas of moorland. The coast is only a short distance away and has an abundance of superb beaches and delightful small seaside villages. Llandysul is a small village renowned for the white water canoeing that is available on the River Teifi as well as the salmon fishing. The Teifi Valley was once famous for its woollen mills and there are still a few working mills that are open to the public, producing beautiful blankets and fabrics that are sold all over the world. There are many sites of historic interest in the area and West Wales has a large number of spectacular castles. It is an area that has attracted a large number of artists and craftspeople, many of whom have galleries and studios for visitors to see & buy their work.
