Ewyas Harold
Guide supplied by Mr Robert Dewar, owner of Pomona Cottage.
Ewyas Harold is a delightful base for a holiday. All the necessary facilities are within a half mile, with a good village shop and post office plus a separate butcher's selling locally produced meats. There are two pubs in the village providing food lunchtime and evening for when you simply don't want to cook. Llama trekking is always available - you may check this out before your visit at www.goldenvalleyllamas.co.uk and we will be delighted to introduce to the different characters in the herd before they escort you on a llama trek World famous book town Hay-on-Wye is just 16 miles away. Spend a morning, a day or a whole week there! The cottage is well placed for trips to National Hunt racing at Chepstow, Hereford and Ludlow, and during the summer months you might be lucky enough to see the local-speciality horse trotting races taking place at nearby Allensmore. The Black Mountains are beautiful all year round. Climb the Sugar Loaf or the twin peaks of the Skirrid mountains and take in lunch at the Walnut Tree restaurant.
